We are incredibly proud to announce that Aiden Maclean, a Walkerville Collegiate Institute student, has received a placement with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada 2025 Training Institute and Tour!
Starting June 15th, Aiden will attend the NYO Institute, where he will spend intensive time with world-class faculty for orchestral instruments. Following this, he will embark on a cross-country tour with concert stops in Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Victoria. Aiden's hard work and dedication have truly paid off, especially considering the highly competitive nature of NYO Canada, which accepts only 30 violinists aged 16 to 28. This achievement is even more remarkable as it is Aiden's first audition attempt with NYO.
Congratulations, Aiden! Walkerville Collegiate Institute is proud of your accomplishments and excited to see you shine on this national stage.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Stasia Kryk, a Walkerville Collegiate Institute student, has confirmed with Pepperdine University in Malibu California.
"I'm thrilled to share that I've officially committed to Pepperdine University in Malibu, California! Since my first scholarship offer in July 2024, reaching this moment feels truly surreal. I am proud to have maintained a 4.0 academic average throughout high school while training as a high performance tennis player and competing in national and international tournaments. Tennis has taught me independence, dedication and discipline, qualities that have been instrumental in shaping my academic achievements.
I'm so grateful for the incredible support from my family, friends, teachers and my coaches at the Zekelman Tennis Centre who have encouraged and guided me along the way. It's something I'll always be grateful for.
A special thank you to my mom, dad, and brother — your belief in me has been the foundation of this experience. It means the world to me and I truly couldn't have done it without you.
Here's to the next chapter at Pepperdine - I can't wait to see where this path leads! " - Stasia Kryk
Congratulations, Stasia! Walkerville Collegiate Institute is proud of your accomplishments and excited to see what the future has in store for you!
